Arrival, core touring and departure are shown day by day. Opening hours, named-entry tickets and local conditions may change the order. If anything important needs to change, we discuss it with you.

  1. 01Day 1

At the confirmed Beijing airport or station, your driver takes you straight to the hotel. We leave the first day clear after a long flight; sightseeing begins when you have slept.

Travel made seamless

Hotels, guides and transfers work together.

Your hotel level, guided days, transfers, route transport and principal admissions are planned together. We check availability for your dates before payment.

01

Stay

We use breakfast-included twin rooms at the four-star standard (4 diamonds on Trip.com/Ctrip) for all 10 nights: Beijing 4, Hangzhou 2, Suzhou 1 and Shanghai 3. The exact hotels and rooms are confirmed before payment.

02

Guide, transport and admissions

Each touring city has an English-speaking local guide and vehicle for your party. We include all transfers and named first entries, among them the West Lake boat, one Suzhou garden and the water town. Beijing–Hangzhou and Hangzhou–Suzhou trains are second class; a private vehicle takes you from Suzhou to Shanghai. Guides change by city and drivers meet each end of a train day. Korean-speaking guides cost the same where available.

Before you choose

How much does this 11-day tour cost?

The 11-day Beijing–Hangzhou–Suzhou–Shanghai private route costs USD 2,690 each for two in a twin room, USD 5,380 for the pair. Four pay USD 2,290 each and six USD 2,140. Your land price covers 10 hotel nights with breakfast, local private guides and vehicles on touring days, tickets, a West Lake boat and two high-speed trains. There are no domestic flights. International flights and lunches and dinners are extra; ask us for a written quote at another group size.

Why no Xi'an on this route?

The 11-day Beijing–Hangzhou–Suzhou–Shanghai tour stays in the east after Beijing and uses trains instead of domestic flights. That leaves time for West Lake, a Suzhou garden and a canal town. If you want the Terracotta Warriors, the 10-day route includes Xi’an from USD 2,990 per person for two sharing a twin room; the 14-day routes also include Xi’an.

When is the best time to go?

For the 11-day Beijing–Hangzhou–Suzhou–Shanghai train route, look at April–May or September–November. Hangzhou and Suzhou enter the rainy season in June, and July–August is hot and humid.
