- Pin the hotel’s actual pedestrian entrance and its vehicle-accessible lobby; in Chongqing these may sit on different street levels.
- Build the current metro or road route to the exact railway station, including every interchange rather than only the line names.
- Identify the railway entrance, North Station square if relevant, or the signed taxi/ride-hail drop-off level before leaving the hotel.
- Add ordinary time for security, finding the waiting area and walking inside the station; a car’s arrival at the complex is not arrival at the platform.
- Plan the destination-side pickup separately, then reverse the same checks when Chongqing is the arrival city. A fast train does not solve a late hotel check-in or an unprotected onward transfer.

Shapingba stay, two Chengdu options

- If the chosen ticket says North or West, go there; do not force Shapingba for convenience
Family in Chayuan, train to Zhangjiajie
- East is the first station to test, not a guaranteed answer
- Confirm the exact dated train and the same-platform transfer from the Line 6 East section into established Line 6
- For a very early or late journey, verify the current operating chain and keep a road fallback
If you go to the wrong station, recover in this order
- Stop. Recheck the Chinese departure station, train, date, time and whether the ticket is issued. Do not keep moving on a guess.
- Work out whether this is the correct railway station but the wrong entrance or level, or a genuinely different station. Ask uniformed station staff if the signage is unclear.
- If the original ticket is valid, compare the live arrival time at the correct entrance plus a normal station-entry margin. When that is clearly safe, keep the ticket and go; do not spend the remaining window on an unnecessary change.
- If the transfer is not clearly safe, handle the ticket before crossing the city. For a ticket just bought through a registered account on an official 12306 channel, the order page may offer a fee-free mistaken-purchase refund within 30 minutes of payment and at least 4 hours before departure for qualifying electronic or points payment. It is limited to one order per account per calendar day, has excluded order types, and does not cover a third-party seller’s booking path.
- If that option is unavailable, check current change/refund choices or ask staff. A change depends on inventory and current rules; another Chongqing station cannot simply honour the original departure station.
- Only with a valid plan and enough margin should you use the live metro or legal taxi/ride-hail route to the correct station. Keep passports, luggage and the group together.
- If departure is close, the app gives no workable option or the train has left, go to the service desk or contact 12306 immediately. Do not promise yourself a universal refund or after-departure rescue.
- Issued ticket: exact Chinese origin and destination stations, train, date and departure time
- Hotel: correct branch, address, entrance, street level and reception hours
- Station access: current metro stop or signed vehicle drop-off side and level
- Timing: current first/last urban connection plus a realistic inside-station margin
- Group: luggage, children, slower walker, lift dependence and one meeting point
- Recovery threshold: the time at which you stop trying to cross town and ask railway staff for a ticket solution

If your ticket is issued, the exact station printed on it, matched character for character: 重庆北, 重庆西, 重庆东 or 沙坪坝. What is the Chinese name of Chongqing East railway station?
重庆东站 (Chongqing East). It opened in 2025 southeast of Chayuan in Nan’an, and by metro you reach it on the Line 6 East section. Show the full name 重庆东站 to a driver, and do not confuse it with 重庆站 (Chongqing Station), which has had no passenger trains since 2022.
Is Chongqing Station (重庆站) the main station?
No. 重庆站 is a specific station at Caiyuanba that stopped passenger service in 2022 and was still under reconstruction in the official July 2026 update, so it is not one of the four current urban hubs. 重庆汽车站 is a bus station, not a railway terminal.
Which Chongqing station is for Chengdu trains?
There is no fixed answer.
