Sunlit sandstone pillars and deep forested ravines in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Morning light across Zhangjiajie's sandstone pillars—the scale this four-day route is built around.

Why this route works

Four days, without turning Zhangjiajie into a race

Zhangjiajie is not one viewpoint. It is a journey through sandstone pillars, a canyon crossing, cave or lake scenery, and the high slopes of Tianmen Mountain. This route gives the National Forest Park its own full day, keeps the Grand Canyon separate and lets the final mountain feel like a finale—not one more stop forced into a crowded list.

01

A gentle arrival

Our driver meets you at the airport or railway station and takes you to your hotel. The rest of Day 1 stays free—an arrival day is not a sightseeing day.

02

Three landscapes, three days

The Forest Park, Grand Canyon and Tianmen Mountain each receive their own rhythm instead of being compressed into one generic highlights list.

03

A stay that changes the mood

Keep the route and choose between city convenience, a more spacious premium stay or a more distinctive mountain setting.

04

Details that follow your dates

Rooms, vehicle, tickets and guide are matched to your group and your dates before anything becomes a booking.

The 4-day Zhangjiajie itinerary

One arrival day, then three completely different landscapes

  1. Day1

    Arrive in Zhangjiajie, Then Exhale

    Arrival and private transfer

Day 1 is yours. Our driver meets you at Zhangjiajie airport or railway station and takes you and your luggage straight to your hotel. There is no guide or sightseeing today, so you can settle in; the mountains start tomorrow.

  2. Day2

Into the Sandstone Forest: Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain

    Guided sightseeing planned

Your guide and private vehicle take you into Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Ride the Bailong Elevator, walk Yuanjiajie, see Tianzi Mountain and take the cableway, in the order the park's operations allow that day. Then back to your hotel by private vehicle.

  3. Day3

Cross the Canyon, Then Choose Cave or Lake

    Guided sightseeing planned

Your guide and private vehicle take you to the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, then on to Huanglong Cave or Baofeng Lake—only one of the two is included, as set out in your written confirmation. Back to your hotel by private vehicle afterwards.

  4. Day4

    Tianmen Mountain, Then Onward

    Guided sightseeing planned

Check out with your luggage in the private vehicle and visit Tianmen Mountain on the A, B or C route booked for you, then continue by private vehicle to the airport or railway station. Before you book, we check your Tianmen entry time against your train or flight, and only plan both on this day when there is enough time between them.

Before you choose four days

The questions that change the itinerary

Is four days enough for Zhangjiajie?
Yes, for a focused first visit: Day 1 for arriving, then the Forest Park, the Grand Canyon area and Tianmen Mountain get a day each. Seeing every nearby sight without rushing takes more days.
Are the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and Tianmen glass walkway the same?
No. They are two different places, visited on different days: the Glass Bridge is in the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon area, and the glass walkways are on Tianmen Mountain.
Should I stay in the city or choose a more spacious setting?
A city stay usually suits you if easy arrivals and departures matter most; a roomier stay suits relaxed evenings and space to be together. The best fit also depends on the exact hotel, the route order and where you leave from, so tell us how you arrive and leave.
Can Tianmen Mountain fit before my flight or train?
Sometimes, if the timing works. We look at the Tianmen route and entry time available to book together with your train or flight, and only put both on the same day when there is a safe margin. With a late ticket or an early departure, the same plan may not work.
What is the value of a private plan here?
We cannot control the weather or the queues. What we do is make each day hold together: the right entrances, private transport, your luggage, ticket routes and your group's pace—and we re-order the day when operations change.

What the private-tour price covers

Clear about what is in and what is out

Included in the quote

  • Private local transport and agreed arrival and departure transfers
  • Two days of private English-speaking guide service
  • Three nights in the selected accommodation tier
  • Adult admission and standard scenic transport named in the confirmation
  • No shopping stops; optional upgrades or added services require your agreement before they are charged

Not in the base price

  • Travel to and from Zhangjiajie
  • Lunches, dinners and personal spending; breakfast is confirmed with your stay
  • VIP access, bungee jumping, zip lines, shows and other optional activities
  • Single-room, child and vehicle-upgrade differences
  • Comprehensive travel insurance bought in the traveller's home country

Before you pay, your written confirmation lists exactly what is included, who operates each part and anything that differs on your dates. If you would rather spend a full day in the Forest Park, see Tianmen Mountain and stay all three nights in one villa or 4-star hotel—without the Glass Bridge—compare the Zhangjiajie Forest 4-day fixed route.
