Fly into Beijing, leave from Hong Kong
This 10-day private tour flies into Beijing and leaves from Hong Kong, from USD 3,090 per person for two sharing a twin room; international flights are extra. The mainland part ends on Day 9 with a train to Hong Kong, so travellers from the US and other eligible countries may be able to use China’s 240-hour visa-free transit instead of a tourist visa.

The shape of the journey
Nine hotel nights include breakfast, the last one in Hong Kong. The price covers local private guides and vehicles on mainland touring days, transfers, named tickets, the Li River cruise, the Beijing–Xi’an train, the Xi’an–Guilin flight and the Guilin–Hong Kong train. There is no guided sightseeing in Hong Kong; extra nights there can be added.
Day by day
Arrival, core touring and departure are shown day by day. Opening hours, named-entry tickets and local conditions may change the order. If anything important needs to change, we discuss it with you.
At the confirmed Beijing airport or station, your driver takes you straight to the hotel. We leave the first day clear after a long flight; sightseeing begins when you have slept.

The guide takes you through the Tiananmen area and into the Forbidden City with the ticket issued for your date. The museum closes on Mondays, so we set the Beijing day order after the reservation is confirmed.

Mutianyu is about 90 minutes from Beijing by road. Take the included cable car or chairlift one way, then walk the restored wall at your own speed. Back in town, there is a short hutong walk near the Drum Tower.

The confirmed second-class train to Xi’an takes about 4.5–6 hours. A driver takes you to the Beijing station and another meets you in Xi’an; leave the evening free after the crossing.

Do not rush the Terracotta Warriors: the guide has the morning and early afternoon there. Return to Xi’an for the City Wall when the light softens; you can walk or cycle it. The Muslim Quarter is free time in the evening.

The economy flight from Xi’an to Guilin takes about two hours. A local driver meets you at the Guilin airport and takes you to the hotel. The evening is free; sleep in Guilin before the river boat.

The Li River boat takes about four hours from the pier to Yangshuo, between the karst peaks. Your main bags travel separately by road, so keep what you need on the boat with you. The rest of the Yangshuo day is free.

If the water level and operator allow, ride a bamboo raft on the booked stretch of the Yulong River. Afterward, see the countryside by bike or vehicle without a fixed walking target. Stay in Yangshuo.

Drive about 1.5 hours from Yangshuo to Guilin West station. Only two or three direct trains a day run to Hong Kong West Kowloon, and the ride takes about 3 hours 20 minutes, so the day is built around the confirmed departure. Mainland exit and Hong Kong entry checks both happen inside West Kowloon station. A Hong Kong driver takes you to the hotel; the evening by Victoria Harbour is yours.

Your driver takes you to Hong Kong International Airport. If you want more time in Hong Kong, extra nights can be added before the flight; days in Hong Kong do not count toward the mainland’s 10-day visa-free limit.

Day 1 · Arrive in Beijing

Travel made seamless
Your hotel level, guided days, transfers, route transport and principal admissions are planned together. We check availability for your dates before payment.
Nine hotel nights include breakfast, in twin rooms at the four-star standard (4 diamonds on Trip.com/Ctrip): Beijing 3, Xi’an 2, Guilin 1, Yangshuo 2 and Hong Kong 1. Hong Kong rooms are usually smaller than mainland rooms at the same level. We confirm hotel names and room types before payment.
Included: an English-speaking local guide and vehicle for your party in each mainland city on touring days, all transfers including West Kowloon station to your Hong Kong hotel and on to the airport, named first admissions, the Li River cruise with separate luggage transfer, the second-class trains Beijing–Xi'an and Guilin–Hong Kong, and the economy flight Xi'an–Guilin. Guides work city by city: on train and flight days, a driver takes you to the station or airport and another meets you on arrival. Korean-speaking guides can be arranged in mainland cities at the same price, subject to availability.
The 10-day Beijing–Xi’an–Guilin–Hong Kong private tour is USD 3,090 each for two sharing a twin room, USD 6,180 for the pair. Four travellers pay USD 2,630 each and six pay USD 2,470. Nine breakfast hotel nights, mainland guides and vehicles on touring days, tickets, the Li River boat, two high-speed trains, one domestic flight and the Hong Kong transfers are included. International flights, lunches and dinners are not.
Possibly. Eligible passport holders may stay up to 10 days under China's 240-hour transit rule when they enter the mainland from one country or region and leave for a different one; Hong Kong counts as a separate region. This tour plans Beijing entry on Day 1 and Hong Kong West Kowloon exit on Day 9. It is not a qualifying third-region transit if you also entered the mainland from Hong Kong. You need a confirmed onward ticket with a fixed date and seat, and the border officer decides on arrival. Check the National Immigration Administration before booking; we do not handle visas.
On Day 9 of the 10-day Beijing–Hong Kong private tour, a driver takes you from Yangshuo to Guilin West station, about 1.5 hours, for the direct high-speed train to Hong Kong West Kowloon, about 3 hours 20 minutes. There are only two or three direct trains a day, so we book one as soon as tickets open. You carry your own bags on the train. Immigration for both sides is done at West Kowloon, and a Hong Kong driver meets you after the checks.
Both 10-day routes start in Beijing and include Xi’an and the Li River. The Beijing–Xi’an–Guilin–Shanghai tour, from USD 2,990 each for two, ends with a Shanghai or Suzhou day and flies home from Shanghai. This one, from USD 3,090, adds a second Yangshuo night and ends in Hong Kong, which is the version that can fit 240-hour visa-free transit. Flying in from and back to the same country does not qualify.
Clear before payment
The listed starting price is per person at the stated group size, with two sharing a room. Once dates are agreed, we ask for passport details for the Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors and train tickets, and we book the Guilin–Hong Kong train as soon as seats go on sale. If you plan to use visa-free transit, check where you enter the mainland from and hold a confirmed onward ticket to Hong Kong before departure; we do not apply for visas. Flights, trains, hotels and the final total are confirmed in writing before payment.
