Who is this five-day tour a good fit for?
Choose this Homeground tour if you want Shanghai, a water town and Suzhou without changing hotels. All four nights are in the same Shanghai hotel, so your main luggage stays there during the Suzhou day trip. There are three full sightseeing days; arrival and departure make up the other two days.
What do you arrange for the Suzhou day trip?
The published tour includes return second-class high-speed rail, private transfers at both ends and the guided Suzhou visit. Homeground coordinates these as one itinerary, so you do not need to book the train and local transfers separately. This rail arrangement applies to both the two-, four- and six-person packages.
Is it suitable for parents or travellers who tire easily?
Keeping one hotel removes the need to repack between cities, and the private group can discuss its walking pace with us. Gardens and old streets still involve walking, steps and uneven surfaces. Tell us about walking limits or mobility equipment before booking so we can check a workable route and any changes to the quote.
Can a wheelchair user take this Shanghai–Suzhou tour?
The published route has not been verified as wheelchair-accessible. The high-speed train, station handoffs, vehicle, hotel room, Zhujiajiao, gardens and old streets must each work for the specific traveller and wheelchair. Send us the chair dimensions, transfer needs and walking limits before booking. We will check each link and an alternative; if an essential link cannot be confirmed, we will propose a different route rather than promise this one will work.
How are rooms and the Suzhou journey arranged for four or six people?
The published starting prices assume two people sharing a room: two rooms for four travellers, or three for six, at the same Shanghai hotel for all four nights. Both groups still use second-class return high-speed rail for Suzhou, with private station transfers. Tell us your preferred beds, ages and luggage count; we confirm the rooms, train and vehicle before the final written quote. The Suzhou day does not include a return to your Shanghai room for a midday rest.
Which sights distinguish this from the six-day tour?
This route includes Zhujiajiao, Shanghai Tower's 118th-floor observation deck and a Suzhou day with the Humble Administrator's Garden, Hanshan Temple and Pingjiang Road. Hangzhou and Suzhou Museum are not included. The six-day route instead stays in Suzhou and Hangzhou and includes a West Lake cruise.
Can I use my own hotel or book only the Suzhou day?
The listed price is for the full five-day tour, including four hotel nights. If you have booked your own hotel or only need the Suzhou day, tell us your dates, group size, hotel location and which services you need. We will check what we can arrange and quote it separately; the package price does not apply to a shorter booking.
Are the guide, hotel and price confirmed when I enquire?
The published package includes English-speaking guide service and four nights with breakfast at a Ctrip 4-Diamond-rated hotel. We check your dates, room arrangement and availability before confirming the hotel and total in writing. Public two-, four- and six-person prices are a starting point; children, other group sizes and changes need a personal quote. Enquiring does not reserve rooms or tickets.
